First Look: Buck Knives 663 Alpha Knife

by Braxton Taylor

Buck Knives has just launched a brand new fixed blade hunting knife, its new Buck Model 663 Alpha Guide knife. This large size hunting knife is the latest member of the Buck Knife Alpha product line along with the Buck 664 Alpha Hunter and the smaller Buck 662 Alpha.

The business end of the new Buck 663 Alpha Guide is a 4.375-inch-long, drop-point S35VN stainless steel blade. Quite useful for outdoor tasks, the Buck 663 counts on jimping along its spine and a choil underneath, behind the keen edge. The blade itself has a high panel flat grind. Lastly, the rearmost portion of the tang has a lanyard loop too. Further adding to its outdoor usefulness, the Buck 663 Alpha Guide is wrapped by machined Richlite textured handles. These handles are not only very durable and resistant against the elements, but they are also designed to be easily removed for cleaning, maintenance or replacement. Drop point blade profiles are very popular for this category of knives, and with the Buck 663 Alpha Guide there is no exception. A drop point tip is useful because it lends itself to a variety of cutting tasks while being strong and still being precise and nimble.

Being that the Buck 663 Guide is a full-size, fixed-blade knife, it is going to be easier to handle while using it. This knife includes an American made brown leather sheath that is handy to have when carrying out in the field.

The Buck 663 Alpha Guide knife is made in the United States of America and includes Buck Knives’ lifetime warranties. It has a starting retail price of $225.
