First Look: SOG Escape 2.0

by Braxton Taylor

SOG Knives announced the release of its new SOG Escape 2.0 folding pocket knife, a ruggedized multi purpose and multi-role working knife suitable at a job site, campsite, trail or in the back yard. This is SOG’s latest iteration from the original Escape folding pocketknife.

The SOG Escape 2.0’s business end consists of a 3.4-inch, hollow-ground combination clip point and serrated blade forged from AUS 8 steel that fits into a beefy aluminum handle with a pronounced finger guard, textured grip inserts and a line/seat belt cutter on the back. The end of the grip has a small glass breaker for added utilities or emergency work. Finish wise, its blade has a black finish that pairs nicely with the black texturized inserts and green grip. The color scheme is reminiscent of the classic Accuracy International L96 bolt action rifle. The new Escape 2.0’s locking system consists of the tried and true traditional liner lock mechanism, but in this model’s case it works in tandem with an assisted opening lever found on the knife’s spine to make blade deployment that much more fluid.
