First Look: Streamlight Wedge XT Flashlight

by Braxton Taylor

Streamlight has just released the new Wedge XT, a USB-C rechargeable EDC (everyday carry) light with a flat, low-profile design that maximizes portability and convenience.

Modern carry lights like this new product from Streamlight can be thought of as today’s equivalent of yesterday’s penlights, albeit far more powerful. The Streamlight Wedge XT has a 500 lumen, 1900 candela output on its “high” setting for two hours, and on its low setting a 50 lumen, 200 candela output. The Wedge XT is only 4.25 inches long and has a push button to activate, much like other modern tactical lights. The tail switch also has a five-tap lockout feature to prevent the light from being accidentally activated while it sits in a pocket, bag or purse. It takes about six hours to fully charge the Wedge XT’s 950 mAh lithium polymer cell battery via a USB-C charging cord. There are red and green LED indicators above its waterproof charging port that indicate the light’s battery status.

“Like the popular Wedge EDC light, the unique, ergonomic design of the Wedge XT makes it the perfect concealed carry light for patrol duty, tactical maneuvers, and automotive, industrial, or DIY uses,” said Michael F. Dineen, Streamlight’s Chief Revenue Officer. “It’s also perfect for outdoor uses, including hunting, camping, boating, or just about any activity where you need a dependable light on hand for instant, bright illumination.”
